Job Description

About us

General Medicine is a fast-growing healthcare technology startup on a mission to transform how consumers discover, purchase, and engage with healthcare products. We’re building a consumer-facing healthcare

experience that is as intuitive, delightful, and premium-feeling as the very best luxury retail brands — but focused on giving people access to the best care in the world. We’re passionate about design, thoughtful branding, and providing an unparalleled customer experience.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a hands‐on Brand & Product Designer who will spend roughly 60‐70 % of their time driving brand, creative, and marketing design and 30‐40 % shaping our digital product experience. You’ll be the visual steward of General Medicine—crafting campaigns that stop thumbs, building a cohesive design system, and ensuring every pixel reflects impeccable taste.

What you'll do

  • Brand Stewardship & Creative Leadership: Own and evolve our visual identity across every touchpoint—paid social, lifecycle email, landing pages, print, and beyond—so everything feels unmistakably “GM.”
  • Campaign Design & Production: Concept, art-direct, and produce world-class marketing assets (storyboards, motion studies, final creatives) that inspire, perform, and meet exacting aesthetic standards.
  • Product Design Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to turn complex healthcare tasks into elegant, intuitive flows for web and mobile.
  • Design System & UI/UX Craft: Build and maintain a cohesive design system in Figma— components, patterns, documentation—that scales gracefully as we grow.
  • Testing & Optimization: Work to iterate quickly, balancing beauty with data-driven performance insights.

Who you are

  • Visual Storyteller: A portfolio full of campaigns and product work that marry striking aesthetics with clear narrative.
  • Taste-maker: You sweat the details—from kerning to micro-interactions—and hold yourself to luxury-brand standards.
  • Systems Thinker: Equally comfortable refining a design system as you are crafting a hero graphic.
  • Scrappy Builder: Thrive in a fast-moving startup; you concept, pitch, and ship without waiting for perfect conditions.
  • Collaborative Communicator: Clear, candid, and kind in articulating design decisions and feedback.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years designing for brand-centric companies or agencies, with at least 2-3 years influencing digital
  • product UI/UX.
  • Demonstrated success balancing conversion-focused creative with rich storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of responsive web and mobile design patterns.
  • Experience directing external creative partners (photography, illustration, motion).

Why join us

  • Impactful Mission: Elevate the consumer healthcare experience.
  • Creative Freedom: Shape a best-in-class brand from the ground up.
  • Growth & Influence: Your work will directly define our trajectory.
  • Collaborative Culture: Partner with a team committed to excellence.
