Clayton Services is searching for an Accountant/Bookkeeper to join a thriving company in Houston, Texas.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $70,000-$80,000/year

Accountant/Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily cash account balances, forecast upcoming expenses, and suggest cash transfers/distributions as needed
• Track and process all submitted and approved vendor invoices, monitoring status, and following up where necessary
• Maintain books using QuickBooks for multiple entities
• Perform routine reviews of general ledger activity, monthly reconciliations, and monthly closing entries
• Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and trial balances for tax reporting purposes
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and books
• Calculate and process payroll, including payroll taxes for 1099 employees
• Maintain the debt schedule and reconcile monthly
• Maintain depreciation ledgers for assets
• Prepare annually and file Forms 1099
• Maintain W-9s for contractors and vendors
• Review, allocate, and approve expense reports in Concur
• Other duties as assigned

Accountant/Bookkeeper Education and Experience:

• A minimum of a high school diploma or associate's degree with 10+ years of relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience OR a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 4-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Previous experience using QuickBooks is required
