Job Description

Salary: $115,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage large-scale projects.
  • Willingness to travel across North America and occasionally internationally.
  • Self-motivated individual with a hands-on approach necessary for project progression.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within Operations and Lean methodologies.
  • Established track record in leading engineering and operations teams.
  • Capability to apply and mentor on DFM, problem-solving, Lean principles, and theory of constraints across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to simplify complex data and report effectively at the plant level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in interactions with plant leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business planning processes and essential business metrics.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and meet defined objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and execution of automation and control initiatives at the NA AHU locations to advance to Industry 4.0.
  • Collaborate with site Operational Excellence Leaders to coordinate equipment upgrades and data collection efforts.
  • Guide the Automation/Controls Engineers at each site, providing direction and coaching to ensure timely and budget-compliant execution of automation tasks.
  • Mentor and lead team members to achieve high levels of success.
  • Manage the operational transition to Industry 4.0 across the NA AHU sites.
  • Direct efforts towards plant automation improvements by leading Automation/Controls Engineers.
  • Conduct operational data collection, analysis, and reporting at NA AHU sites.
  • Drive system integration initiatives to connect independent machinery into cohesive systems.
  • Explore and implement autonomous robotics systems for manufacturing processes including welding and assembly.
  • Develop digital twins for each NA AHU site to enhance layout optimization and future planning.
  • Create operational simulations for major equipment tasks to guide future investments and identify improvement areas.
  • Investigate and apply additive manufacturing techniques where suitable within NA AHU sites.
  • Promote the integration of artificial intelligence into manufacturing processes, maintenance, and data acquisition.
  • Assess and integrate augmented reality technologies to enhance manufacturing and quality control efforts.
  • Lead a problem-solving culture focused on transitioning from reactive to proactive methodologies like DMAIC.
  • Ensure local implementation of the NA AHU technology roadmap strategy at each site.
  • Facilitate sharing of real-time data through platforms like Power BI to communicate KPIs, manufacturing status, and shipping updates.
  • Engage with Operational Excellence Leaders at NA AHU and other JCI locations to foster digital transformation upgrades.
  • Challenge existing norms while exemplifying Lean thinking for the team.
  • Elevate plant performance and talent through proactive engagement with leadership and staff.
  • Facilitate mentorship, coaching, and training throughout the organization.
  • Foster an inclusive culture by role modeling, setting clear expectations, and guiding corrections as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
