Assistant Professor

Position Announcement

The Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences at Eastern

Illinois University is accepting applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The desired start date is August 16, 2026. The department seeks candidates who are committed to student learning, and the academic and clinical instruction of undergraduate and masters students in Speech Language Pathology. Duties include teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, clinical instruction, research, and service. Mentoring student research is expected ##

Required Qualifications: Doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.



Compensation: Salary Range is \$74,700 to \$78,300 commensurate with

qualifications and experience.

Start Date: August 16, 2026

Department: Current students and alumni describe the department as

The unique STEP program at EIU offers program students rich experiential learning opportunities to work with college-going students with autism. The co-located speech language pathology clinic, classrooms, faculty offices, and graduate assistant offices are conducive to ongoing collaborations and a real sense of community.
